What is your role at 4th Source?

I am a technical leader within the organization, and have been with 4th Source since 2012. One of the most important aspects of my work is the freedom to design improvements for customer systems.

I support several projects, taking part of the analysis and design for new projects or implementations.

I mostly work with one of the largest 4th Source customers, identifying project requirements and opportunities to be implemented on their systems.

What do you love most about working with 4th Source?

I love the challenge aspect of my role. I like to work here because we have an incredible team with capabilities in several IT areas.

I can learn from my team and coworkers every day, and I can share my expertise and have the opportunity to take part in different projects.

What is your most memorable moment at 4th Source?

Customer recognition is important to me. When I received an email from a customer DBA essentially saying, “Thank you. Every day we learn from you.” That meant a lot to me.

When you're not working at 4th Source, what can we find you doing?

I like to go to the beach, or to archaeological ruins. In Yucatan, we have incredible places to go such as Chichen-Itza, Uxmal, and Mayapan. The cenotes are very attractive now because it is the warmest season of the year.

I also like to spend time with my family. We have family barbecues nearly every weekend.

What were you doing before you joined 4th Source?

I was working for the Technological University of Guadalajara as an Oracle Database Administrator. I was responsible for the implementation of Oracle Database 10g with Real Application Cluster in educational systems.

I also worked as a consultant for several education companies, specializing as an Oracle DBA.

Where do you see your future?

I would like to get involved with databases again. The DBA role provides an excellent opportunity to continue to learn. You need to consistently read documents, tutorials, and technical sheets to stay updated with database technologies.
