What It Means to Make the Inc. 5000 List Six Times

8.17.16 By Mark Molinari

As a business leader, it’s easy to get caught up looking forward. What are industry and economic trends? Where are the opportunities for growth? How can we service our customers faster than our peers? Today, I am looking back, and applauding the people who have helped 4th Source perform so well.

This year, 4th Source has earned a place on the Inc. 5000 list for the sixth time (see the full press release here). The award, itself, lauds the 5,000 fastest growing private companies in the U.S. Considering the nearly six million private companies in the US, the Inc. 5000 is an elite group. I’m not sure how many awardees have made the list 6 times, but it takes on a different dimension.

The macro-economic environment since we began this trek in 2004 has been tough. U.S. GDP growth has averaged around 2%, with declines in 2008, 2009, and 2011. Yet, we grew. We grew consistently, and are continuing to beat the odds.

I don’t mind touting this achievement, because it’s a reflection of our people of whom I’m incredibly proud. It’s a testimony to the creativity, technical prowess, business acumen, and relentless customer focus of our entire team and I salute them.

The Inc. 5000 award is validation of our strategic intent and ability to execute. It shows our team’s passion and ability to quickly adapt to new challenges. It proves something which I have always known – that our people are world-class.

So, to our 4th Source team – take a moment to let that sink in. Rock back in your chair, close your eyes, and smile. This is some pretty sweet recognition, and it’s yours. You’ve earned it. And you should be proud of it too. I can assure you that this is only the beginning for us. Our next twelve years will be our best. We will service new industries and clients, open new offices, take on new technologies, and continue to provide a fun, challenging and rewarding environment for you.

Let’s continue to wow customers and redefine world-class. I am very proud to be counted amongst your ranks. The best is yet to come.

Thank you,

Mark Molinari, Co-Founder and President.
